Johnny Thurgood, one of our own.

Sad news received early this morning via Joe Lazar (Lazarus) that our very good and long term member Johnny Thurgood had suffered a fatal heart attack at his home in Hackney, with in the last few days.

John has been a very popular member and recently many members have asked of his welfare having not seen him at the recent monthly meetings. His popularity has been a legacy from his boxing days, as all that knew him will testify, he had an extensive and successfull Boxing carreer.

John without doubt was one of the most amiable, approachable men you could ever have the pleasure to meet, one of lifes true "Gentlemen", LEBA's condolences pass now to his widow and family on their sad loss.

May "Our Johnny", now rest in peace.

Here are the details of the funeral;
