The Lads from Sunderland Ex-Boxers Association were invited down to The SHORDITCH TOWN HALL
"THE END OF AN ERA" 22ndSeptember 1955 to28th January1975 IN AID OF THE EX-BOXERS ASSOCIATION OF GREAT BRITAIN.
On the 18th September. I would just like to thank the people who organised the event for treating THE SUNDERLAND EX-BOXERS like Royalty. Every one we met that evening was so FRIENDLY. We arrived on the Friday tea time by PAUL FAIRWEATHER what a gent he took us to places in LONDON that i would never have visited in my life time first of all he took us to the WEST HAM BOXING CLUB which has a pub connected to it so that was fantastic when the club opened we were invited in and shown there fine trophie collection and all there memorabilia, and a young lady who was cleaning there fantastic collection of Silver Cups and trophies gave me a tea shirt of the west ham boxing club so thankyou. Then we went to THE REPTON BOXING CLUB where again we were treated like Royalty we were shown all there trophies and silver ware and championship belts i asked one of the coaches if i could purchase a REPTON top but unfortunately they never had any then one of the young boxers took the shirt off his back and gave it to me ringing with sweat you tell me how good could it get well Paul to the bars where the KRAY TWINS used to frequent in there day he even took us to the church where they had there burial i know PAUL FAIRWEATHER didn't organise the whole show by himself but what he did for SUNDERLAND EX-BOXERS was fantastic there was so many men that i met that night and on the Saturday evening far to many to mention THANKYOU TO YOU ALL GODBLESS THE LONDONERS.

YOURS SINCERLY
