Many thanks to the generosity of all those who attended the Gary Davidson Golf Classic in August, who raised an amazing £5800.00 for the Motor Neurone Disease Association.
The event has been held every year since 1990 in tribute to boxer Gary Davidson, whose life was cut short by MND.Many boxers and people associated with the sport attended the 2010 event, which was held at the Darenth Valley Golf Club, including the guest of honour,Dave Charnley-the Dartford Destroyer.

Organizer Tommy Mulholland commented that the Gary Davidson Golf Classic had raised thousands of pounds for good causes over the years, but this was the first time the money raised had been donated to the Motor Neurone Disease Association.

Seen here in the photograph is Larry O'Connell[left]famous International referee presenting a cheque for £5800.00 to Branch Chairman,Dennis Mooney.Dennis said,"The generosity of all those involved in this fantastic event is much appreciated. It goes without saying that this money will make a considerable difference to those people of West Kent whose lives are affected by MND.

I knew Gary, and he was a smashing bloke he used to come into the Cromwell mint casino with his good mate Johnny shannon, nice people, I went to a couple of fund raising dinners when he first got ill, so sad, such a nice chap and sadly missed. God bless you Gary.
