Book on Boxing Wonderboy out now

Posted by Alex Daley on 27th Feb 2011
A biography of 1920s and '30s boxing Wonderboy Nipper Pat Daly, one of our featured East End Boxing Lives fighters, is now available to buy.

Nipper Pat was one of Britain's most talented and popular pro boxers of the pre-war era, and is arguably our most gifted young boxer ever.

He made his pro debut aged nine, was topping bills in top-line 15-round fights at 14, was ranked in the world's top-10 by America's The Ring magazine aged 16, yet sadly was 'burnt out' by age 17. But not before beating some of Europe's finest fly, bantam and featherweights - themselves grown men.

Packed with detail on boxing's pre-war era, the book includes extracts from Nipper Pat's previously unpublished memoirs and is the first time the Nipper's unique story has ever been told.

A free sample chapter can be read online here.
